Arriving early in 2015, the sister model of Buick Encore is going to be equipped with new equipment and additional sound insulation. 2015 Chevy Trax review

Known as the sister of the Buick Encore, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax shares the same chassis. It also has a single engine choice which is a turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder, port-fuel-injected engine. This produces 148 pound-feet of torque and 138 hp. However, the peak power is not reached before the crankshaft spins at 4900 rpm. Even though the turbocharger performs with little lag, the engine is responsive. Unfortunately, you may need 9.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. Paired to a six-speed 6T40 Hydra-Matic, the 2015 Chevy Trax consumes around 29 mpg for the Front Wheel Drive version. It drops to 27 mpg for the All Wheel Drive version.

The Trax is reasonably roomy and airy for four adults or five when the three in back are relatively small. It is 168.5 inches long from the nose to the tail and 65.9 inches tall. It can take 18.7 cubic feet cargo that can be extended to 48.4 when the rear seats are folded.

For the safety, the Trax features a standard rearview camera system and electronic stability control system. To meet the safety standard for U.S. market, it is also equipped with electronic brake force distribution and 10 standard airbags including knee bags for the driver and the passenger in front.

The new Trax is also packed with tech. Built-in OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi is what the subcompact SUV offers. This allows the passengers to be connected to high speed internet connection at any speed for up to seven different devices including smartphones, tablets, and laptops at once. Other tech features are the USB ports, MyLink System with large touch screen and the Siri “Eyes Free”.

Trax 2015 price

There will be three models of 2015 Chevrolet Trax for the U.S. including LS, LT, and LTZ. It is expected to be offered around $20,000 or under. Latest predictions suggest that the LT model will be the top seller as it is equipped with handful features such as roof rails and heated power adjustable mirrors. Let’s see how the 2015 Chevy Trax will compete with KIA Soul, Nissan Juke, and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
